Fiona Morrison in Signs of Life by Cormac Quinn

In conjunction with its new Writer-in-Residence Caroline Dunford, Siege Perilous introduced a mentoring programme for emerging playwrights called the 'Playwright Development Programme'.

Up to 6 playwrights will be selected to participate from the work they submit which can be a full script or a work-in-progress they wish to develop. The programme will culminate with up to 6 of the developed works being workshopped with professional actors. It may even be possible that any of these will go on to be staged in a full scale production.

The initial programme ran for 6 months from October 2011. The next 2-week submission windon will be September 2012.

It is planned that the introduction of the programme in 2011 will be the first in a 3-year commitment by the Company. The programme will continue to evolve and be shaped by feedback from all participants.
